United Way 211 has many guides and directories available to assist service providers and others who work with people in need of assistance. Please download and use this form to order any of our guides. Download the pdf.

The Help Book 2002
The print version of the Help Book is no longer available, however you can now search the 2-1-1 database for the most comprehensive listing of programs and services in the metro Atlanta area.

Homeless and hungry resources
Includes information about how to find food pantries, soup kitchens, emergency and transitional shelter and emergency financial assistance. This guide is particularly useful to anyone who works with homeless individuals and families. View the table of contents.

Drug and alcohol recovery program
Provides the homeless with the names, addresses and phone numbers of agencies that can help them overcome drug and alcohol addiction. Included in the guide are treatment centers, shelters, transitional housing, and a schedule of meetings that will be helpful in fighting addiction. View the table of contents.

Job resources
Includes information about resources that help with job readiness, job search, job training and job placement resources. View the table of contents.

How to help individuals with mental illness
How to help men and women with mental illness wherever you meet them - shelters, soup kitchens, outreach offices, churches, restaurants, stores or on the street. View the table of contents.

Resources for people with disabilities
This directory contains information about organizations that may be useful to people with disabilities or those trying to assist them. It contains basic information about what is available to the individuals based on their circumstance, (for example SSI, SSDI, Medicaid, Medicare, Veterans benefits, etc.). Additionally, the last section of the document has a list of helpful websites. View the table of contents.

Affordable housing directory
This is a comprehensive housing listing of low-income, subsidized, non-subsidized, elderly, disabled, HIV, substance abuse, mental illness, shelters, and low cost motels/hotels available in the metro Atlanta area. This directory is available through a partnership with the Community Housing Resource Center and United Way 211. View the table of contents.

Ex-Offender Information
This directory contains information about services available to ex-offenders and incarcerated individuals who are about to be released from jail. Services include housing/shelter, substance abuse services, employment, counseling, etc.

Spanish directory of information and referrals
(translated in Spanish) This is a complete listing created to assist the Hispanic community with identifying programs and services in the metro Atlanta area. Service referrals include: food pantries, domestic violence shelters, substance abuse and mental health services, etc.
