The CFC, as it is commonly known, is the only authorized charitable fundraising campaign for federal employees, both civilian and military. The official campaign runs from mid-September through mid December each year. Last year over $4.5 million was donated to the community through the CFC. There are over 1800 local and national/international nonprofit organizations in the metro Atlanta campaign. 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations may apply to be included in the campaign.
The metro Atlanta campaign covers 42 counties: Banks, Bartow, Butts, Carroll, Cherokee, Clayton, Cobb, Coweta, Dawson, Dekalb, Douglas, Fannin, Fayette, Floyd, Forsyth, Fulton, Gilmer, Gwinnett, Habersham, Hall, Haralson, Heard, Henry, Jasper, Lamar, Lumpkin, Meriwether, Newton, Paulding, Pickens, Pike, Polk, Rabun, Rockdale, Spaulding, Stephens, Towns, Troup, Union, Upson, Walton and White.
The nonprofit organizations have access to more than 45,000 metro Atlanta federal employees who have the opportunity to designate their contributions. Each agency must complete an application every year to be included in the campaign.
