An Individual Development Account (IDA) is an account through which people with low-to-moderate incomes can save, and by using matched funds, have greater purchasing power for homes, businesses or education expenses for youth.
United Way of Metropolitan Atlanta offers three IDA programs. The United Way IDA for Homeownership, helping first-time homebuyers invest in their communities, the United Way IDA for Microenterprise, supporting self-sufficiency through business development and entrepreneurship, and the United Way Youth IDA, helping high school students save for tomorrow.
