For many, college or post-secondary education opportunities are never an option, due to the high costs associated with attending. Many first-generation college students, unfamiliar with the ins and outs of the FAFSA, don’t know how to fill out the form, nor are they aware of the financial aid opportunities that are available to them. Navigating the intricacies of the FAFSA isn’t just a menial task; it’s the key, for many, to opening doors that would otherwise remain closed.
United Way of Greater Atlanta, Learn4Life, and the Scholarship Academy have partnered together for the College Bound program, to bring schools, community-based organizations, businesses, and an army of volunteers together to help families navigate the complicated forms to access financial aid – the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and other college support. This Cole Exchange will let you learn the ins and outs of our College Bound Initiative. Learn more about upcoming College Bound volunteer opportunities here or at our next Cole Exchange.
Hear from representatives from the Scholarship Academy, Learn4Life, and our Community Engagement team at United Way of Greater Atlanta, as we dive into how we can help transform the futures of many children and teens in our city. We will conclude the panel with a tour of the Scholarship Academy, where you will get to meet the boots on the ground that are doing the good work.
