#WhyWednesday: Brad Currey

December 20, 2017

Share Your Why

This Share Your Why story was originally published in December 2017. Brad Currey — longtime volunteer, civic leader, businessman and champion for child well-being — passed away in January 2022. His legacy continues to inspire us and change lives in Greater Atlanta.

A lot has changed since Brad Currey began giving to United Way. He started as a Campaign Coordinator, loaned to us from Trust Company of Georgia, in 1954 — back when United Way of Greater Atlanta was called Community Chest, and when his $2.00 monthly donation was a significant cut of his paycheck. In the decades since, Brad has deepened his commitment to our community. Hear him share why he lives united.

Everyone has a story — you don’t have to be giving since 1954 to tell us your why! We want to know what drives you to give, advocate, and volunteer for Greater Atlanta.

Send us a message.

It's Give United Day!

Today your donation goes further with a dollar-for-dollar match up to $100,000 from generous friends including KMPG and PwC.
