The Tocqueville Society and Ivan Allen Circle are programs that recognize the vital importance of community commitment and personal giving at an exceptional level. 

The Tocqueville Society and Ivan Allen Circle are a diverse group of philanthropic leaders committed to making a measurable and sustainable impact on child well-being in Greater Atlanta. Through shared experiences, commitment to mission, and philanthropic investments, we provide a path forward for future generations of donors.

Tocqueville Society is named after the 19th century French political thinker and historian Alexis de Tocqueville who, in his writings, recognized the importance of voluntary action on behalf of the common good.  By getting involved, you’re unlocking the potential of children, families, and communities.

Tocqueville Society membership is open to those who give $10,000 annually, and Ivan Allen Circle membership is open to those who give $25,000 annually.

The Tocqueville Society is open to individuals and couples who make an annual gift of $10,000 or more. Ivan Allen Circle is open to individuals and couples who make an annual gift of $25,000 or more.

Our Impact Networks

Engagement Groups

African-American Partnership members give $1000 annually and are committed to uplifting African-American boys and young men in the metro Atlanta area.
LINC members give $250 annually and are under the age of 30.
Women United mobilizes women of diverse backgrounds and is open to those who give $1000 annually.
LINC members give $250 annually and are under the age of 30, and YPL members give $500 annually and are under the age of 40.

Donor Recognition Societies

Tocqueville Society and Ivan Allen donors give $10,000 and $25,000 annually, respectfully.
Legacy Leaders are individuals or couples who commit to a planned gift through their wills or estate plans.
Cole Society members give $1,000 annually. This includes access to Women United and African-American Partnership.​

Board Service

United Way VIP is a nationally recognized board governance training program.
