Make a Difference: Volunteer to Help Others with Tax Preparation!

United Way of Greater Atlanta provides free tax preparation services to the community through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, in partnership with the IRS, MyFreeTaxes.com, and our VITA Coalition that consists of partner agencies across Greater Atlanta. If you’re new to VITA and interested in volunteering or want to learn more, click here to fill out our VITA Interest Form. 

Additionally, we offer virtual new volunteer orientation sessions via Zoom and in-person, IRS-certified tax preparation trainings to equip our VITA volunteers with the necessary knowledge and skills to efficiently assist families and individuals with their tax preparation. Trainings are optional and will cover basic and advanced tax law material to help volunteers pass the required certification test and will be facilitated by site coordinators from our VITA coalition. Sessions are geared towards new volunteers but returning volunteers are welcome to join.
