College Bound
United Way of Greater Atlanta’s College Bound program harnesses the power of collective impact to remove barriers to college access.
United Way of Greater Atlanta, Learn4Life, and the Scholarship Academy have partnered together for the College Bound program, to bring schools, community-based organizations, businesses, and an army of volunteers together to help families navigate the complicated forms to access financial aid – the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and other college support.
Less than 50% of high school seniors in Georgia will apply for federal aid money, on average.
In 2022, an estimated $3.58 billion in federal college scholarship money was left unused.
This is a 55% increase in unused funding since pre-pandemic. College Bound is zeroing in to ensure ALL students have access to a college education by helping families complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form. United Way of Greater Atlanta is partnering with schools, nonprofit organizations, and volunteers to host events that bring critical resources to students and their families to make college accessible.
