A Legacy of Leadership. A Future of Opportunity.ย

Women United launches a new year of leadership and impact

This month, Women United kicked off another year of impact with its annual retreat, bringing together a new cabinet of leaders and setting the stage for a year of connection and community impact.

Women United is a community of advocates and leaders who turn collective generosity into tangible change for women and families across Greater Atlanta.

But itโ€™s about more than women helping women.

The Women United community helps carry the mission of United Way of Greater Atlanta forward, ensuring women and families have equitable access to education, healthcare, and the support they need to build stable futures. Together, they are helping advance economic stability for all in Greater Atlanta, one woman, one family, and one community at a time.

โ€œWomen tend to be the backbone of families, and families are the backbone of communities,โ€ said Schyler Habowski, Director of Women’s Leadership. โ€œWhen a woman is successful, her community can thrive.โ€

>> RELATED: We invested in these women โ€” now theyโ€™re investing in Greater Atlanta

This year, the 2026 Women United Cabinet includes 24 leaders from across Greater Atlanta, including entrepreneurs, consultants, corporate executives, and civic leaders. Many bring personal experiences that inform their commitment to the mission, having seen firsthand how opportunity can change the trajectory of a life. Today, they are helping create those same opportunities for women and families across Greater Atlanta.

Meet Your Co-Chairs

Leading the cabinet this year are co-chairs Rhonda McKinney, retired Senior Consumer Litigation Consultant with Equifax, and Cindy Wilson, Senior Sales Account Representative at Thermo Fisher Scientific.

โ€œI am committed to uplifting women in my community, especially marginalized women. The agencies and programs supported by United Way have proven results. By helping women reach their full potential, it creates long-term legacy impact for future generations.โ€

2026-27 Co-Chair, Women United

โ€œMy commitment to Women United is driven by a desire to create maximum impact by investing my time, talent, and treasure in advancing opportunities for women and families. Through my leadership and community service, I’ve seen that when we empower women, we strengthen entire communities. Serving Women United allows me to turn that purpose into meaningful action and help create lasting change.โ€

2026-27 Co-Chair, Women United

What’s Ahead for Women United

There are many ways to be part of Women United’s next generation of leadership, from investing financially to volunteering your time and energy. What brings members across the community together is a shared belief that when women have opportunities to succeed, entire communities benefit.

Throughout the year, Women United offers opportunities to network with like-minded leaders while taking action on issues affecting women and families across Greater Atlanta.

In November, Women United will host its annual Pack the Purse event, collecting and filling purses with hygiene items and toiletries to support women transitioning into stable housing or facing economic hardship. What makes this event especially meaningful is that it provides more than just basic necessities. By filling stylish purses with both essential hygiene items and special treats, we help women feel seen and empowered with a renewed sense of dignity.

Then, later in March, Women United willย also markย the nationโ€™s 30thย Womenโ€™s History Monthย with a special event to celebrate the collective impact of women in Greater Atlanta.ย
