The Shoebox Project offers year-round opportunities to make a tangible difference in the lives of our unhoused neighbors. By participating, you help restore dignity and hope while providing essential support to those who need it most.
How It Works
Grab a box or a bag
Look for unused, in good condition, shoeboxes or drawstring bags in your closets and storage.
Add a personal touch
Get creative by decorating the boxes or adding
inspirational notes to the bags to bring a smile to someone's face.
Fill it up
Include toothbrushes, toothpaste, lip balm, soap, socks, and more!

Host a Shoebox Party
Schedule your party and invite your family, friends, and/or coworkers to a party with a purpose. Each guest will need a box or a bag and items to fill it up with, as well as some supplies to decorate and add a personal message to their donation. To have United Way
of Greater Atlanta host and coordinate logistics, submit a project request form.
Start a Collection Drive
Organize a collection of items needed at your organization. Once collected, please complete the Collection Drive Form.
