We’re proud to introduce the 2025-26 Board of Directors for United Way of Greater Atlanta, led by incoming Board Chair Brian Sappington, Chief of Sales (Global US Customers) at Danone. This dedicated group of leaders shares a deep commitment to building a thriving and inclusive Greater Atlanta.
“Serving on the Board of United Way of Greater Atlanta has shown me the power of community to change lives—especially for the kids who deserve every chance to dream big and thrive,” shared Brian. “This year, as Board Chair, I’m excited to help lead investments that don’t just support families—they transform futures. Together, we’re building a Greater Atlanta where every child has the opportunity to rise.”
This year, we also welcome 11 new members to our Board of Directors.
Together, we’re entering the year ready to make meaningful progress towards child well-being across our region.
>> LEARN MORE: Communities thrive when our children are thriving
Currently, 19 out of 20 children born into poverty in Greater Atlanta are almost certain to remain in poverty without intervention. These odds are shaped by environmental factors that limit opportunity, such as access to quality learning experiences, healthcare, and employment opportunity. With the guidance of our board’s leadership, the innovation of our staff, the heart of our volunteers, and the support of our partners, we’re working to change the narrative.
After all, these children are the future of our region—and when we invest in our children, we build a stronger, more equitable Greater Atlanta for everyone.
