Members of the Tocqueville Society recently enjoyed an extraordinary evening at the Warehouse Gallery, surrounded by stunning works of art in a beautiful space generously provided by long-time Tocqueville and Ivan Allen Society member, John Wieland. The event was a perfect blend of art and reflection, as attendees contemplated the concept of home—both in the art that adorned the gallery and in the impactful work they do. Here are the amazing photos from our evening together.

The evening served as a powerful reminder of the strength found in community, collaboration, and shared purpose. It is through partnerships like those with the Tocqueville Society and the generous support of individuals like John and Sue Wieland that lasting change is made possible. The work being done is not merely about addressing immediate crises; it is about building a sustainable future. The children, families, and individuals supported by these efforts have a reason to believe in a brighter future, thanks to the unwavering commitment of the Tocqueville Society.

Housing is foundational to everything we do. It’s not just about providing shelter; it’s about restoring dignity, creating stability, and offering hope for the future.

One shining example of this commitment is the Motel to Home program. In collaboration with partners like St. Vincent de Paul and a network of other organizations, this program has provided stable housing for 517 families, including 564 adults and 924 children. These numbers represent lives transformed families who were on the brink of despair but have found the stability they deserve through this initiative.

The Motel to Home program exemplifies the profound impact that can be achieved when organizations, nonprofits, and the community unite for a common cause. This program assists families living in temporary motels—often a last resort for those facing homelessness—by transitioning them into permanent housing. This transition is about more than just moving into a home; it’s about providing families with security and stability. It includes offering case management services and connecting them with the resources they need to rebuild their lives.

The impact of this work extends beyond housing. Stable housing creates a ripple effect that transforms lives. When a family has a safe and secure home, everything changes. Children can focus on their education without the fear of where they’ll sleep at night. Parents can concentrate on work or job training, knowing their family is safe. A stable home brings dignity, hope, and the chance for a better future.

The Tocqueville Society’s dedication to these initiatives underscores the power of community and the importance of working together to create lasting change. Through their efforts, they are not just solving crises—they are building futures.

Thank you !
