Overview

Building a Brighter Future Together Community Grants puts community voice at the center of change. As part of United Way of Greater Atlanta’s Brighter Future Investment Priority Area portfolio, this initiative invests in neighborhoods by letting residents, youth, and local leaders lead the way — identifying challenges, shaping solutions, and guiding funding decisions. Our first iteration of grants will take place in Forest Park, GA.

Focused on building community resilience, this grantmaking model shifts power, uplifts lived experience and transforms both outlooks and outcomes. It’s not just funding — it’s a movement led by the people who know their communities best.

Housing
Supports housing efforts that create, maintain, or expand access to safe, stable, and affordable housing. Aligned with our mission to advance equitable housing access and prevent homelessness, this grant is a key step toward building a stronger, more resilient Forest Park.

Employment
Support workforce development services that improve employment outcomes for Forest Park residents — including youth, dislocated workers, and individuals facing barriers to employment.

Ideal efforts are programs that advance job readiness, skills training, job placement, and career growth, helping residents build pathways to economic stability and long-term success.
