Public Policy and Advocacy

It starts with the children.

Almost half a million children in Greater Atlanta are growing up in circumstances that can imperil early childhood development, academic and career success, and family economic stability. Our public policy agenda reflects our mission to engage and bring together people and resources to drive sustainable and equitable improvements in the well-being of children, families, and individuals in the community.

United Way's Public Policy Agenda

In United Way’s Public Policy Agenda – developed in partnership with Voices for Georgia’s Children – we lift up issues that address these adverse circumstances like expansion of school-based services that improve health and mental health; directing federal resources toward Career and Technical Education and subsequent employment opportunities; and improving consumer protections for renters, loan applicants, and those making use of subsidized housing.
