The year is 2044, and Greater Atlanta’s even greater now—Beyoncé is President, teleportation is possible, and all kids have choice-filled futures ahead of them.
Here’s the 2025 reality, though. Greater Atlanta is full of potential, but right now, for many kids, that promise feels out of reach. Children born into low-income households in our region have just a 4% chance of escaping poverty in their lifetime. For 77,000 of those kids, conditions in their neighborhoods aren’t just struggling—they’re actively declining. We need to change those odds so every child, no matter where they’re born, can thrive.
When we picture the future of Atlanta, we envision hard-working families being able to afford basic necessities and a safe place to call home. We see kids excited to start school, supported every step of the way, until they graduate ready to take on their college or career dreams. And we see neighborhoods rallying together to create the future they want to see.
We know that kids are our future. A bright future for kids means a bright future for all of us.
