Strong readers, stronger futures

Creating a world where every kid has access to opportunity
A visit from the future holds a cure for the common cold, and a promise of a world where every kid has the opportunity to thrive.

Imagine a Greater Atlanta where every child has access to free or low-cost childcare at a quality early learning provider. Where students build reading skills in research-backed literacy programs. Where caregivers have the tools to better advocate for their children.

In the version of Atlanta that could exist for future generations, we hope all of that is true, and more. Can you imagine what’s possible in a world with a cure for the common cold?

Currently, in local neighborhoods with low child well-being, only one out of every five third graders is a strong reader. This important milestone marks when kids move from learning to read to reading to learn, and reading proficiency at this age can launch—or limit—a kid’s success later in school and beyond.

At United Way of Greater Atlanta, we’re taking steps towards a future where every kid has the opportunity to thrive, and it begins with getting the education they need today.

The first step toward that future happens when neighbors, community leaders, and supporters like you come together and support our youngest learners. Donate today to invest in the leaders of tomorrow.

Thank you !
